Why Start a High School Chapter?

  • Most core leaders dedicate approximately 2–3 hours per week to their chapter. This includes organizing meetings, preparing materials, hosting events, and maintaining communication with OneUp Headquarters. During breaks or off-seasons, the time commitment typically decreases.

  • No prior experience is required. OneUp is designed to be completely beginner-friendly. We provide comprehensive training, editable slides, detailed lesson plans, and facilitator guides—empowering any motivated student to lead confidently and effectively.

  • Yes. Most chapters are led by 2–4 student leaders who collaborate to manage operations, plan events, and engage participants. We encourage forming a small, motivated team to divide responsibilities and strengthen outreach efforts.

  • You may still operate a OneUp chapter informally or virtually. Many chapters begin by hosting sessions after school hours, on Zoom, or off-campus while pursuing official recognition through school administration.

  • No. All OneUp programs are completely free for students. Chapters may also apply for limited microgrants and gain priority access to funding opportunities by remaining active and submitting regular reports.

  • Chapters are expected to:

    • Host at least one educational event per quarter using the OneUp curriculum.

    • Submit brief monthly updates to OneUp Headquarters.

    • Communicate any major changes in leadership or operations.

    • Adhere to the OneUp Code of Conduct, ensuring an inclusive, respectful environment for all participants.
